Terms & how I work

No fine-print traps. This page sets out how a Winship project runs — what you pay, what you get, and the part most studios bury: you own everything I build.

Last updated: July 2026. These terms describe how I work generally; the specific quote and scope I send you for your project take precedence if anything differs.

Quotes and pricing

Every quote is fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts — no hourly billing, no scope creep, no surprise invoices. Prices shown on this site (from $299 for a landing page, from $1,200 for a site with a custom backend, from $3,000 for custom software) are starting points; your exact figure is confirmed after a short, free scoping conversation.

GST and invoicing

Prices on this website are quoted in Australian dollars (AUD). Where GST applies, it is shown on your quote and invoice, and you receive a proper tax invoice for every payment.

Scope, changes and revisions

Your quote lists exactly what's included. Reasonable revisions within that scope are part of the price. New pages, new features or a change of direction beyond the agreed scope are quoted separately — again, as a fixed figure you approve before I build it.

Payment

Terms are set out on your quote — typically a deposit to begin and the balance on completion, before the final files or site go live. Larger software builds may be staged against milestones.

Ownership — the important bit

On final payment, you own 100% of the design, code and content I build for you, outright. There is no proprietary page-builder holding it hostage and no licence you have to keep renting. You can host it anywhere, edit it yourself, or hand it to another developer whenever you like. Any third-party components used remain under their own open-source or commercial licences, which I'll tell you about.

Hosting and after launch

Hosting is simple and inexpensive, and I'll set it up with you. After launch I'm available for changes, fixes and the small additions every business needs — and because you own the code, you're never locked in to me to make them.

The free security audit

If you request the free audit or security scan, I check the website you nominate for common vulnerabilities and exposed data and tell you plainly what I find — whether or not you go on to work with me. It's a good-faith review of publicly reachable issues, not a guarantee that a site is free of every possible flaw, and I only ever scan a site you've given me permission to check.

Liability

I stand behind my work and fix genuine defects in what I've built. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, my liability for a project is limited to the fees you paid for it, and I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
